The Role

We are seeking a Project Manager with experience in concrete, general trades, and demolition for for work at field sites located in the Lansing, Michigan area. At Granger, our Project Managers have the ultimate responsibility and accountability to ensure the overall success of each project they manage. This role is accountable for partnership with field leadership to ensure overall safety, profitability, and quality of projects.

Responsibilities

The Project Manager is responsible for estimating, cost, schedule, quality, and close-out and commissioning.


  • Project Cost: Forecast job cost and profit on regular intervals; monitor cost changes and report promptly; write subcontracts and purchase orders; continually "think outside of the box" to provide key solutions and alternatives.
  • Project Planning: Coordinate with the estimating team to understand the overall project; partner with field leadership to plan the overall project; understand lever and pitfalls that may impact productivity and profitability.
  • Controls and Documentation: Ensure submittals, RFI's, safety logs, daily reports, and similar items are maintained accurately and up to date and are actioned or closed when appropriate.
  • Quality and Safety: Ensure that Granger's quality standards are setting the industry's standard; maintain high safety level on the job site daily.
  • Schedule: Develop and maintain overall milestone schedules and work with project teams to develop look ahead schedules.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in building construction management, civil engineering or other engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of five years of related experience.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal, listening, and written communication skills. Effective interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to easily read and understand blueprints and specifications.
  • Assertive, highly motivated, organized and a self-starting individual.
  • Must be technologically savvy with the ability to easily pick up computer programs and technology.
