Job description
The University of Iowa College of Education invites applications for the position of Project Manager of Recruitment and Placement for the Multidisciplinary Pathways to Recruit, Train, and Retrain Mental Health Providers in Iowa (MPath). The MPath is a federally funded program to address the shortages of mental health providers in high need K-12 schools in Iowa. This position is responsible for overall management of both administrative policies and direct program services. The Project Manager will plan and execute major activities from working with Project Directors (PD) and Area Education Agencies (AEAs) to recruitment of students and coordination with faculty and project personnel.
Psychological and Quantitative Foundations
This specified- term position will be full-time, 100% FTE, and based in Iowa City, IA.
The MPath Program will be housed in the College of Education, but is a collaboration with the school counseling, social work, and public health programs.
Specific Job Duties and Tasks
Plan and administer the MPath grant in accordance with federal regulations and university policy (40%)
- In collaboration with co-PDs, develop and assess operating procedures and objectives for the grant, maintain a database for grant reporting, manage and monitor budgets, provide supervision to other grant staff, prepare grant reports on program activities and status as required by the funding agency. The PM will document and disseminate public materials about the MPath Program, build collaborations to enhance success of the Program and partner program activities, and serve as the communication point person working with partner AEAs and MHDs region partners.
Recruitment and retention efforts (60%)
- Prepare recruitment materials (in multiple languages) and assist campus community in identifying/recruiting students, identify ways to support educators’ ability to earn a mental health credential, engage university partners and AEAs, identify and prepare faculty for summer internship activities, and provide support to project participants.

Education Requirement
- Bachelor’s degree and 3 – 5 years typical experience required, or a combination of education and relevant work experience.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with recruitment.
- Experience working with grants post award.
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite, Google forms, Adobe, Qualtrics, or similar systems.
- Experience managing complex relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
- A valid driver’s license is required, as is continued compliance with the University of Iowa Fleet Safety Program driving standards (University of Iowa Operations Manual Part V, Chapter 19).
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with school administrators, districts, AEAs, work in K-12 settings.
- Experience working in higher education working with students, faculty, teachers, and mental health professionals.
- Project management experience.
- Federal grant experience.
- Supervisory experience.
- Familiarity with UI policies and accounting procedures, MAUI or similar accounting systems.
- Experience with coordinated care or health models.
