SUMMARY

The Engineering Project Manager facilitates the seamless execution of engineering design and development projects at our Huntsville site and provides consistent, world class process execution for our hardware and software platforms. This role promotes clarity in the process ownership and prioritization of projects, monitoring key success factors and team objectives. The engineering project manager also participates in operating mechanisms to monitor and improve project execution by providing timely and accurate updates and metrics.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate closely with the Engineering Functional Managers (Software, Test, and Hardware), Operations, Product Management, Program Management, and Sales teams to positively influence execution of engineering design and development
• This role will have stewardship of the project and development process for board and system products in Engineering.
• Indirectly lead multi-disciplined teams in a matrixed environment to ensure all development metrics are met, such as but not limited to; schedule, cost, requirements and quality.
• Provide imaginative, thorough, and practicable solutions to a wide range of problems involving the conventional utilization of engineering techniques and processes.
• Conceive and plans projects involving the development of new methods to meet or exceed department and business objectives.
• Provide guidance in process problem investigations and resolution across all engineering functional areas.
• Create a culture of innovation by seeking creative, contemporary technical solutions to meet customer needs.
• Utilize sound project management principles for the execution of the design, analysis, or evaluation of projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements

Qualifications/Requirements

• Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% as required.

• US Citizen or green card holder.

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; or 5 years of equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 7 years of Project/Program Management experience managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
