General Description:
Tolin Mechanical, an established, well recognized and respected HVAC service contractor, is looking for an experienced Project Electrician to join one of our Project Team based out of Denver. We are seeking a candidate who meets the qualifications listed below.
We have a solid team of experienced and respected technicians. Our business continues to grow, and we are looking for another solid technician that is interested in a long-term position and who will fit well into our team.
Project Electricians will install and maintain the electrical wiring, fixtures, and systems in building. The Project Electrician will install, repair, troubleshoot and maintain assigned HVAC equipment, and properly communicate with customers to assure the company s high-quality reputation is maintained
Summary of Job Functions and Equipment:
- Replaces conduit and wiring as needed.
- Replaces circuit breakers as needed.
- Installs new electrical circuits including conduit, wiring, circuit breakers, disconnects, motor starters, variable frequency drives, and all related components required to power and run new mechanical equipment.
- Ensures piping and wiring complies with electrical codes.
- Installs circuit breakers and other electrical hardware and connects wiring to them.
- Tests electrical systems to ensure proper installation and operation.
- Inspects electrical systems to determine whether repairs are needed.
- Assists in installation/replacement of Rooftop Units.
- Assists in installation/replacement of Chillers.
- Assists in installation/replacement of Cooling Towers.
- Assists in installation/replacement of Hot Water / Steam Boiler.
- Assists in installation/replacement of Packaged Air Conditioners.
- Assists in installation/replacement of Computer Room AC Equipment.
- Assists in installation/replacement of Control Systems.
- Assists in installation/replacement of Air Handling / Fan Coil Units.
- Assists in installation/replacement of Condensers / Chilled Water Pumps.
- Assists in installation/replacement of Refrigerated Air Dryers.
- Assists in installation/replacement of Air Compressors.
- Assists in installation/replacement of Exhaust Fans.
- Assists in installation/replacement of Humidifiers.
- Performs infrared inspections on existing electrical gear.
- Performs preventive maintenance.
- Performs troubleshooting.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to develop rapport and productive working relationships with clients, vendors, and co-workers.
- Values and displays exceptional customer service.
- Strong time management and planning skills.
- Minimum 5-8 years experience in commercial service work.
- Minimum 3-5 years electrical installation experience.
- A drive to learn and ability to turn feedback into growth.
- Strong written and verbal English skills.
- Ability to gain Union Membership.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Extensive knowledge of electrical systems and wiring.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Proficient in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Over 18 years of age
- High School diploma or GED
- Completed or enrolled in an Apprenticeship Program or equivalent education/training.
- Valid driver's license with driving record in good standing.
- Union Membership
Compensation & Benefits:
Average Starting Rate for a Project Technician: $40.55 - 44.10+ per hour DOE. Combined experience, education, skills and knowledge will be taken into consideration.
