Overview
The Unemployment Insurance (UI) Division's mission is to provide short-term replacement of lost wages to individuals who are unemployed through no fault of their own. The Program Integrity Unit is responsible for detecting and investigating fraudulent unemployment insurance claims, overpaid benefits, recovering overpaid benefits and/or unpaid tax contributions, and reducing improper payments. This unit works closely together as a team to maintain the integrity of UI program, and to ensure that benefits being paid to individuals and charges billed to employers are accurate.
Positions in the unit work on-site at the Department's Central Office in Montpelier. Typical hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7:45AM to 4:30PM

Environmental Factors
Incumbents must be able to work in stressful and sometimes emotional situations and treat the public with sensitivity, fairness, and tact. Incumbents may encounter clients who are uncooperative or who may be hostile during interviews for which considerable human relations skills are required. Workload volume will be extremely high on occasion.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent AND three (3) years or more of experience performing fiscal auditing, accounting, quality assurance or collections work.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate's or bachelor's degree.
