The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith based organization, has an opening for a Program Aide in Fort Worth, TX.Job Summary:
Leads children’s activities at a child care program, including classroom training, tutoring, sports activities, bible study, computer programs and/or specialized programs; may serve children lunches and snacks; maintains the cleanliness of the child care area.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of the principles and practices of Child Behavior and Development.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of First Aid and C.P.R and ability to ensure the safety of children.
Ability to work under minimal supervision.
Ability to teach children Christian values as well as general childhood education curriculum.
Ability to plan, develop and implement effective childhood programs and activities.
Ability to present a positive and professional image of The Salvation Army
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or G.E.D. required,
and
two years experience teaching child development programs,
or
any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
Licenses/Certifications:
CPR and First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain within established timeframe)
Valid State Drivers License
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write and communicate the English language effectively. Ability to observe children and ensure their safety. Duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing and walking on a frequent change basis. Moderate amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light to moderately heavy objects (less than 50 lbs.) frequently. Work is performed in an indoor and outdoor environment where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt and the like.
