Job Responsibilities:
· Has supervisory responsibility involving staffing, performance appraisals, training and developing subordinates, salary increases requests, termination requests, disciplinary actions, etc.
· Basic understanding of tool such as lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, ISO, HACCP, 6S, etc.
· Responsible for the Food Security Policy/Program to assess potential food security risks and to ensure food security preventive measures are being implemented and routinely audit regarding the manufacturing, handling, and storage of all food ingredients as well as finished goods.
· Collaborates with the production and planning department to create production schedules that meets customer orders.
· Establishes and adjusts work procedures and schedules to meet production plan.
· Work with other departments to ensure all materials follow inventory standards.
· Ensures all team members are trained and work in compliance with all applicable standard work practices, regulatory requirements, GMP s, HACCP and FSSC expectations.
· Actively drives participation and ownership of staff in improving factory KPI’s through teamwork.
· Provides direction to Assistant Prep Managers on team member coaching and development, employment decisions, and resolving issues through conflict resolution.
· Hires, trains, coaches and reviews performance of team members and Associate Managers. Partners with Human Resources for recruitment, corrective actions, and terminations.
· Collaborates with department leadership to plan preventative maintenance for production equipment.
· Continuously reviews line and team performance and adapts the process to achieve the end goal.
· Partners with the Quality Department to prevent and resolve Non-Conforming Finished Goods and Non-Conforming Raw Materials.
· Manage a safe working environment through safety team involvement with a target case rate of less than 2.5.
· Assists the Plant Integrity Manager, Continuous Improvement Manager, Food Safety Officer, Plant Chemist and R&D Department to obtain FSSC Certification and excellent audit ratings. Implements quality management and food safety systems to assure adherence to FSSC to meet product specifications, regulatory compliance and plant and corporate policies and procedures.
· Complete and comply with the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS), Daily Routine List (DRL), HACCP procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Compliance.
· Always maintain a food-safe sanitary environment.
· Supports and complies with plant GMPs. Participates in TPM initiatives.
· Follows all company policies and procedures.
· Enters all data accurately in ERP assigned by manager.
· Complete all daily shift reports in assigned area as requested.
· Order all materials as necessary to keep production on the current shift and the follow shifts running.
· Other duties as assigned.
Skills/Work Experience:
· Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
· Experience with using a full range of statistical and analytical tools and fundamentals.
· BS in Food Science, Food Engineering of Spirits related field or a minimum of 3 years’ operating as a production lead.
· Minimum of 3 years direct people management experience required.
· Ability to understand the vision of the organization and translate it into specific plans and actions that achieve desired results.
· Demonstrates basic understanding of budgets and controls
· Strong communication, negotiating and conflict resolution skills.
· Ability to work collaboratively with all departments, management levels within the company, and external stakeholders.
· Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs; ability to lead people through change.
· Ability to develop, coach, and mentor talent for current and future needs.
· Fluent in Microsoft Office software.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
