Alta Forest Products is the world's largest producer of wood fence boards, specializing in Western Red Cedar and other premium species found in the Pacific and Inland Northwest forests. In addition to producing fence boards and pallet stock lumber, Alta's zero-wood-waste sawmills produce by-products such as wood chips, sawdust, mulch, and bio-fuel. The Role:
Develop and manage the execution of the production schedule based on sales demand, available capacity, inventory levels, and freight availability to ensure on-time delivery. Create detailed inventory plans to meet the business's unique requirements, including inventory mix, storage location, and seasonality. Responsible for working with the production team and all departments (sales, logistics, etc.) involved in the planning process. Maintain and communicate product availability, both short-term for the logistics department and long-term for the sales team and management

Responsibilities:

• Partner with Procurement, Production, Sales, and Logistics teams to proactively plan, schedule, and communicate production schedules and product availability.
• Manages and has ownership of the production schedule.
• Release of internal production schedules to the manufacturing sites.
• Manage disruptions in production (shortages, internal and external constraints)
• Identify and communicate short-term product availability issues.
• Advises management of work in progress, product availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed.
• Plays an integral part of the Supply Chain team by effectively interfacing with internal departments daily and scheduling the movement of inventories, stock transfers, and requests for shipping orders.
• Assists management in the development and execution of action plans for assigned products/value streams to maximize scheduled on-time completion.
• Analyzes supply and demand data and reports to determine critical path constraints.
• Performs product lead time analysis.

• Detailed understanding of supply chain principles.
• Thorough understanding of the following: various production planning and inventory techniques and practices, capacity, various forecasting techniques, and their application.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and networking skills.
• Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent partnering and team-building skills.
• Required strong Microsoft Office suite skills including Word, Excel, Outlook
• Preferred: PowerPoint, Advanced Excel, Infor ERP Software
• Bachelor's degree with two or more years of related professional experience preferred
