Darigold is seeking motivated and skilled bulk milk filling and packaging operators to work 10 to 12 hours per day or night shift as a part of Darigold’s Bozeman Team. A Packaging Operator must possess the desire and ability to work in a fast and safe manner in the Filling and Packaging area of the Bulk Milk Processing Plant. The ideal candidate for this role excels in working in a fast paced, rigorous environment and is a team player. This position will advance your skills and promotes a self-directed work group. This position is responsible for maintaining the continuous operation of a filling and packaging line of the facility while following all Food Safety and Quality requirements as outlined in Darigold’s Good Manufacturing Policy, the position Standard Operating Procedures and facility employee training sessions. The position is also required to report any concerns that may impact Food Safety or Quality to their immediate supervisor, the plant Quality Manager or the Plant Manager. The shift is Monday through Thursday, 3:00 PM - 1:00 AM.
What You Will Do:
- Safe, efficient operation of the FOGG and FSI Filling machines.
- Inspecting and monitoring the filling process ensuring proper machine operation
- Maintaining and monitoring weights and measures; ensuring proper code markings and labelling
- Maintaining and monitoring any required inventory necessary to the filling process
- Supporting as needed palletizing of milk product; Hand stacking of product as required.
- Printing and validating batch packets; operates scan gun and verifies that data and documentation are accurate reconciled, balanced, printed, collected, and passed on through appropriate channels.
- Works in close collaboration with the entire line of workers
- Working in conjunction with the Supervisor and Filler Operator on shift will cross train on all line operations.
- Operates the Box Former as may be needed.
- Pulls packaging for production.
- Safely operates a forklift or pallet jack; loads product for transfer to the Warehouse.
- Performs CIP sanitation of the work area; maintains organization of the work area; and performs ongoing cleaning tasks in compliance with good manufacturing and warehouse practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
What You Will Bring:
- Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 55 pounds frequently, between floor level and chest level.
- Must be able to continuously stand, walk, flex, stretch, twist and move throughout the area for 10 to 12 hours.
- Must be able to climb stairs and traverse potentially uneven wet flooring.
- Ability to organize and analyze process problems.
- Must be able to train others in inventory and labelling processes.
- Strong oral and written communication skills; must be able to read and follow directions.
- Must be able to master and safely operate filling equipment on the line as well as pallet jack and forklift.
- Ability to learn and master scanning, batch ticketing, and basic computer use.
- Must have basic arithmetic skills; able to read and understand instructions.
- Able to write legibly.
- Must be able to monitor and inspect inventory and reconcile receipt/distribution of product.
- Must be able to follow instructions with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Processes
