Reports To: Production Manager
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:
The primary purpose of this position is to perform a Production Associate duty, and to provide a support to the department team leader and supervisor.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for upholding company policies and procedures including but not limited to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), production lines, sanitation, cleanliness, equipment verification and process validation.
- Promote healthy communication between workers and management.
- Maintains work flow by applying steps of the process; monitoring control points; communicate corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and encouraging a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
- Maintains quality and safety by respecting organization standards.
- Ensures operation of equipment, which includes filling lines, filters and reports issues.
- Maintains safe and clean work environment to all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Cleans and sanitizes equipment and containers used in production to ensure no cross-contamination all in compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Experience working effectively and accurately in high volume, fast paced environment.
- Ability to maintain a repetitive, consistent work environment with goal of efficiency and accuracy.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Able to handle repetitious and routine work, detail oriented, self-motivated, organized, and uses good judgment.

Operating equipment and Pre-OP
- Stop/start equipment safely
- Know where Emergency stop button located
- Basic knowledge of Quality requirements
- Label position
- Code present and position
- Correct fill level
- Red and white containers
- Familiar with cleaning and sanitizing equipment
- Safety
- Safely remove jams
- Machine guards requirements
- Proper way to make cases and storage
Wall/Middle/Aisle/Food Service/Rotary:
- Inspect labels centered/correct/tearing
- Code - correct and legible
- Material issues: glued cartons, holes in bottles
- Equipment issues
- Bottles sealing properly
- Check codes/seals
- Change/splice labels
Aisle:
- Sleeves perforated and correct length
- Glass bottle chipped or broken
Hot Fill Lines:
- Die cut centered/crowns/silver showing
- Leaks, temperature dropping
- Dickson reader temperature
- Codes correct/legible
- Heat treated pallets/UK pallet
Color Kit Lines:
- Monitor equipment issues
- Liquid lot change
- Correct code
Performs daily housekeeping duties in work area
- Count scrap for TL
- Sweep and mop under all equipment
- Empty red waste bins
- Clean white bins & place new pig matts under them
- Pick up all dirty pig mats and replace w/new one.
- Wipe down spills on belts
- Clean all utensils used
- Remove labels stuck on conveyors/floor
- Empty mop water, rinse bucket/mop heads
- Store mop head and buckets in proper location after cleaned
- Must have a knowledge and perform all Production Associate Level 1 tasks
- Assist in training employees on the operation of the line’s equipment and company process
- Full knowledge of line sanitizing and food allergen cleaning
Assist Team Leader
- Pull customer samples
- Review GMP’s with new employees
- Properly store/cover food contact material, drum pumps, waste hoses
- Review with new employee’s food contact vs. nonfood contact items/equipment
- Assist team leaders with hooking up pumps and tanks in processing
- Pulling new order labels from the cage
- Help with counting supplies
- Change/splice label rolls
- Check liquid levels after setup
- Testing documentation (burst test, torque test)
- Familiar with location of sanitizing solutions and wheely tanks for cleaning/sanitizing
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Food Safety production
- Manufacturing is highly preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Will be required to stand for an entire shift
- Requires walking on an infrequent basis
- May require employee to infrequently lift up to forty (40) pounds
- Requires frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to ten (10) pounds.
- Requires frequent pushing, pulling, and lifting close to the body
- Requires frequent repetitive motion
- Ability to work on a consistent production line
- Requires bending, twisting, stooping, and squatting
- Must be able to work in various indoor temperatures including elevated heat and humidity
- Exposure to elevated noise levels which occur below OSHA thresholds
- Infrequent exposure to machine sanitation solutions and detergents
- Requires frequent visual quality control observations which may include: turning and bending of the neck and head area.
- Exposure to various odors throughout a work shift.
- Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment [PPE]
- Required to follow Good Manufacturing Practices [GMPs]
