Your Role:

The Procurement Specialist is the first point of entry into the Procurement organization. This individual is expected to quickly understand the operations process flow. This includes how information is provided to Procurement as well as the impact procurement has on other departments within the Global Organization. For the first 6 months to 1 year, this individual will be spending 80% of their time doing transactional work, with the balance aimed at Strategic. Transactional work includes: obtaining price and delivery information from our suppliers, and ensuring PO's are updated. Strategic work includes: Sourcing and qualifying secondary suppliers, negotiating pricing as well as terms and conditions, improving Supplier performance metrics. After this period, it is expected that the Procurement Specialist will be begin to shift this balance to 50% strategic. This individual reports directly to the site and is under the guidance of the corporate procurement business partners.

Shift: Monday - Friday 8AM - 4:30PM

Essential Job Functions:

• Source direct, indirect goods and services for the Miamisburg site
• Create purchase requisitions and purchase orders for the site ensuring specifications are communicated to the supplier with follow up for timely delivery
• Review and evaluate planning for procured materials to ensure sufficient stock while maintaining inventory goals and overall positive cost variances
• Identify and evaluate risks and cost effectiveness to the supply chain
• Assist to identify vendors that will meet the quality, safety and financial requirements of the site and company before entering into purchasing agreements
• Work closely with Quality Assurance to ensure compliance with the LS Supplier Quality Management Procedures and participate in audits as necessary
• Coordinate site building services including the food, cleaning service and trash vendors
• Maintain procurement records per the site document control policies
• Develop Negotiation and Sourcing skill set
• Involvement with Process Improvement initiatives
• Become involved with cross-site improvement efforts
• Develop and improve Supplier Relationships
• Execute improvement efforts with Supplier
• Miscellaneous duties and tasks as assigned

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors of Science Degree in Science or Business
• 1+ year experience in the stable isotope industry or procurement

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proven technical proficiency with appropriate procurement systems and analytic tools (e.g. Excel, Access, MS Project, SAP)
• Good analytical, business process analysis and problem solving capabilities
• Apparent Negotiation Skills
• Excellent communication
• Project Management skills
• Highly motivated and results-oriented
• MBA and/or CPSM
• Understanding of chemistry, particuarly chemical nomecaltrue
• Experience with the stable isotope business
