Need primary caregiver to care for Veteran with ALS.

Hiring a Private Live-in Caregiver to provide 24/7 care and Live in Veterans home. You will NOT have any days off for the first three months. You know will be the primary caregiver and required to work 24/7 if required.

Diagnosis:

Veteran was diagnosed with ALS otherwise known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. Typical life expectancy is between 2 to 5 years. Being on a ventilator will increase life expectancy and help Veteran live a good quality of life. Military Veterans are 2 times as likely to get ALS with no known cause.

Training:

• Two weeks of paid training at the Milwaukee VA
• Milwaukee VA provides free room and board next to the Spinal Cord Unit
• You will be trained by the following: Respiratory, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Nursing staff.

Responsibilities:

• Tube feeding
• Colostomy Care
• Catheter Care
• Tracheostomy Care
• Assist with basic care, includes toileting, bathing, grooming and dressing
• Medical monitoring
• Administer Medication via feeding tube
• Range of motion
• Laundry and cleaning

Specific Requirements:

• Valid driver's license
• Pass background check
• Must be authorized to work in United States
• Ability to work in home-like settings and love pets.
• Ability to handle physical aspects of job, including bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling and reaching.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: Up to $4,000.00 per month

• This is a 24/7 care position with no breaks for the first three months. Are you okay with 24/7 care?
• I privately pay $4000 monthly and offer a sign on bonus of $4000 paid at the end of 30 days of working and if you quit then I divide bonus by 30 days. Must sign a contract and pay will not be taxed so a 1099 will be required. Do you accept this pay?
• I have 3 kids ages 10, 12, & 14 and 2 dogs. French Bulldog and a Lab. Are you okay with kids and dogs? You won't have to care for them.
• I'm a typical white Christian male. What race or nationality are you?
• Sadly, my wife is overwhelmed with raising our kids and dealing with everyday life and she is against me coming home as she gets emotional with me having a trachea. My wife will move out of our bedroom since she gets emotional and will unfortunately move into our only spare bedroom so we will have to set up a bed down in our basement plus I may buy a RV so caregiver could live in it and have privacy. Either way I know we can make it work. Teamwork is everything and I know my wife will really appreciate your help.
