Position Summary:

Principal Process Engineer, reporting directly to the Global Engineering Director, leads development and implementation of global process engineering strategy for North America, Latin America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific manufacturing sites, integrates with product technology strategy to maximize CAPEX investment efficiency, drives engineering solutions to complement profitable growth while meeting Global EHS, Process Safety, Regulatory, Quality, and Reliability objectives. The role focuses on new or retrofit process design, process optimization, introduction of new products, innovation of existing products, continuous improvement of key performance measurements, troubleshooting of plant operations, digital technologies for Manufacturing 4.0 journey, and toll manufacturing opportunities to meet business plan and strategy.

Key Outcomes / Responsibilities:

· Responsible for global process design to ensure activities that conform to Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP). Provide subject matter expertise by applying process engineering principles to develop and deliver engineering design packages for new process equipment and retrofits.

· Responsible for global technical support for products and ensuring key products are designed to the appropriate level and operate to design in order to deliver optimal customer solutions.

· Contribute to inventions, new designs, and techniques that are regarded as major advances in the field. Collaborate with Global Product Technology/Pilot Plant Group/Product Line Management Group for new product introduction process, commercialization/scale up aspects and hand-off of new products or improvement of existing products.

· Lead global process engineering efforts and first-of-a-kind CAPEX projects in partnership with Senior Project Managers including conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design. Conceive and plan project development and feasibility studies.

· Assist with Toll Manufacturing Success by working directly with potential toll customers in a leadership role to complete the necessary engineering and other reviews on potential projects and assisting sales with technical and financial analysis.

· Develop, implement, and maintain global engineering standards and business processes.

· Lead groups of engineers and cross-functional teams, solve difficult technical problems, troubleshoot complex plant equipment, and resolve any customer product complaints.

· Optimize manufacturing process conditions by monitoring batch data/metrics, implementing SPC/SQC, and resolving production bottlenecks.

· Champion Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE), Process Safety Management (PSM), and regulatory requirements and uphold to world class performance throughout the design and operation of process equipment. Proactively participate in design safety reviews, management of change reviews, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), and Risk Based Process Safety (RBPS) audits.

· Actively seek out opportunities to monitor industry trends and to grow technology

knowledge base including digital plant technologies.

· Identify and implement Top Continuous Improvement Opportunities by supporting Lean Six Sigma and Operational Excellence initiatives.

· Develop Corporate Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and provide support to Plant SOPs. Issue as necessary Temporary Operating Procedures (TOP) and special work instruction to cover circumstances not addressed in the SOP.

· Build and lead Global Process Engineering community with members across all sites to enable consistency and share industry best practices/learnings across the network and global engineering training plan development and delivery.

Minimum / Required Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution.

· 10+ years of experience in process design, manufacturing, and CAPEX project management is required.

· Strong proficiency in process design standards, tools, and processes.

· Advanced problem-solving skills to translate strategic direction into tactical plans and implementation activities.

· Strong interpersonal skills capable of working with a diverse group of people and cultures.

Highly Desirable Experiences:

· Master's degree in Engineering or Business.

· Front End Engineering Design (FEED) package and stage-gate project management experience.

· Commissioning and start up experience of batch chemical plants.

· Experience working with global engineering group and EPC companies.

· Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and boards of directors.
