Position Summary

MEPPI's Power Systems Engineering Division is looking for a Project Manager who has experience working in management of the interconnection queue and associated projects. In this role the successful candidate will have experience with the following:

  • Knowledge of interconnection projects and processes
  • Familiar with tariffs and the governance of interconnection projects
  • Interconnection queue management fundamentals
  • Experience with system studies throughout the interconnection process
  • Interconnection Agreement experience
Essential Functions
  • Serve as project point of contact with interconnection customer and client regarding efforts such as coordination, planning, scope management, and project progression.
  • Perform non-technical review and analysis of generation queue applications.
  • Prepare system study agreements, specific to the tariff timelines and project specific requirements.
  • Assist in the routine preparation and delivery of system studies, dependent upon project specific constraints and progress.
  • Engage with interconnection customers throughout project timeline, with the ability to provide explanation of tariff requirements, implications and restrictions.
  • Lead customer meetings regarding tariff questions, study results, and queue progression.
  • Ability to simultaneously manage many interconnection projects in various stages of the process.
  • Initiate and coordinate interconnection agreement negotiations and preparation.
  • Support development of business opportunities towards achieving division objectives.
  • Further the goals and positive, professional image of PSED through interaction with other MEPPI divisions and vendors.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Business Management, Construction Management or related field from an accredited curriculum.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in project management, interconnection queue management, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Knowledge of the ERCOT system and requirements would be very beneficial.
  • Must have ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of project-related matters.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and on several projects simultaneously.
  • Advanced knowledge of EROs, developers, and public and investor-owned utility business planning flow as related to initial feasibility, planning, engineering, implementation, and operations stages.
  • Intermediate organizational, presentation, communication, and technical writing skills required to communicate with customers and employees.
