Job Summary:

Join this high impact team as a Sr. Network Engineer (P3) to ensure the smooth operation of classified network infrastructure at our RMD locations. The installation, maintenance, support, and monitoring of the network infrastructure will be performed. Candidate must have a solid background supporting networks. This fully onsite role will reside in our Huntsville, AL location, and relocation support will be provided to the selected applicant if they qualify per our company policy.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Maintains smooth operation of voice and data networks. Plans, evaluates, coordinates, and performs installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and/or voice communication network.
  • Perform daily tasks supporting multiple individual networks and identifying optimization opportunities as well as planning requirements of future expansions.
  • Develop technical expertise in all areas of voice and data networks hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
  • Propose solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings.
  • Prepare or ensures that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions.
  • Provide regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.
  • Assist with coordination of third-party maintenance for network equipment.
  • Assist with network designs that includes selection of hardware and software packages.
  • Willingness and availability to work outside normal business hours (evenings and weekends) as needed.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree with 5 years of Network Engineering experience, or in lieu of degree, typically, 9 total years of Network Administration/Engineering/STEM work experience. (AS degree with 7 years minimum work experience will also be acceptable).
  • Knowledge of configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Value:

  • Ability to work with general supervision and follow established procedures.
  • Willingness and availability to travel domestically as needed.
  • Experience with current cabling and fiber standards
  • Experience with firewall and access control list knowledge
  • Experience with Visio diagramming and design capabilities
  • Certifications in Security+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
  • Knowledge of configuration and troubleshooting of encryption devices.
  • Effective customer service skills, including oral and written communications.
  • Experience with telecommunication systems
  • Ability to work under time constraints.
  • Experience with classified computing, STIG compliance, and network refreshes
  • Current DoD Secret level security clearance
