Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Facilities Planner
to plan utilization of space and facilities for company consistent with requirements of organizational efficiency, and available facilities and funds. Plans, directs and manages all phases of equipment and machinery maintenance, facilities modification and building projects from establishment of design concepts through design and implementation. Ensures project requirements are defined, contract and contract changes are negotiated, operating budgets established, and financial terms/conditions of contract are identified. Acts as primary contact for facilities, and equipment and machinery maintenance, project activities and leads project reviews of cost, schedule and technical performance. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans, budgets and schedules. Identifies problems and develops solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing project scope. May coordinate the work of employees assigned to the project.

Develops, maintains, and establishes operational specifications for space management information systems CAFM/Facilities Tools (Archibus, Maintenance Connection, etc.) considering such things as building capacity, occupants, and operational efficiencies. Provide analysis to business management and monitor performance by business unit or division.

Direct responsibilities include the following:

  • Project Lead for CAFM/Facilities Tool (Archibus)
  • Manage Facilities and Real Estate Metrics
  • Supports Workplace Management and Strategic Planning
  • Space Planning, Rates and MOA Reporting
  • Annual and Long Range Forecast Support
  • Integrate Data requests for Portfolio Reviews

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 6 years of Facilities, Space Planning, Business or related discipline, or 4 Years with Masters; an additional 4 years of applicable work experience may be substituted for Bachelor's degree.
  • Candidate required to have excellent communications skills, work with all levels of management and be extremely proficient with Excel.
  • Firm knowledge of Archibus and related CAFM Workplace Strategy tools is required.
  • Ability to be flexible with changing priorities, deadlines, and evolving requirements is also required.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Facilities experience within Financial Planning and Metrics Reporting.
  • Experiences in Capital or Rates Planning, MS Project/Office Suite, GIS mapping software proficiencies are also preferred.

This position reports to Unknown City, VA, USA, however, this position can also be worked from Baltimore, MD, MD, USA.



Salary Range: $82,400 USD - $129,500 USD


Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
