Pricing & Item File Manager

Mead Lumber, a regional Lumber & Building Materials industry leader, has an exciting NEW position on its Supply & Purchasing team, Pricing & Item File Manager. Reporting to the Director of Purchasing & Supply, you’ll be responsible for overseeing pricing, item file maintenance, and associated data for all of Mead’s locations and Distribution Centers. In addition, you’ll oversee the SKU/Item integrity across product lines, maintain new item pricing, and formulate a team to support the growth of pricing files across the Bistrack platform.

Mead operates 52 Lumber Yard, Retail, Truss Plant, and Component locations across nine Midwestern states.

Key responsibilities include:

• Review pricing files and system gross margins.
• Address pricing needs and concerns raised by stores, sales, and management.
• Create and maintain company-pricing structures and identify strategic methods to improve pricing files.
• Analyze margin trends associated with price files and market conditions.
• Determine opportunities to improve margins.
• Ownership of new item set-up process, price change submissions, and item maintenance.
• Ensure data integrity is accurate in our ERP system.
• Create a procedure/policy for the creation, maintenance, and removal of items and descriptions.
• Assist purchasing team with vendor and product segment margin reviews.
• Maintain data integrity, accurate formatting, and overall data representation.
• Assist location with inventory SKU needs, reporting, and discrepancies.

Preferred requirements include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or an equivalent work experience.
• Knowledge/Experience in a Purchasing, Inventory Management, Pricing, or a related role.
• Experience with pricing, price files, UOM’s and system maintenance
• Strong understanding of item and SKU creation, maintenance, and data integrity
• Ability to critically think – analyze, troubleshoot and evaluate issues
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient in supplier related software and ERP.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

The successful candidate for this role will be expected to relocate to Rapid City, SD and collaborate closely with the current SKU/Pricing function overseer (who is retiring) and the Supply & Purchasing team in Rapid City.
Following a 12-18 month ramp-up period, the candidate will have the option to remain in Rapid City or request to return to the Omaha office.
