Press Line Operator

Job description

· Prepares molds to receive crumb rubber blend/vulcanized rubber.

· Verifies part specifications by weighing crumb rubber blends prior to filling molds.

· Fills molds with crumb rubber blend/vulcanized rubber/additional materials.

· Activates mold machines to compress and cook the rubber.

· Removes molded parts from the machines and trims flash.

· Stacks molded parts on pallets or in bins and carts.

· Keeps accurate records of production.

· Maintains a safe and clean work environment.

· Learns and performs other related tasks associated with the production of molded rubber products and the operations of the plant.

· Notifies supervisor of machine malfunctions, fluid/air/steam leaks, or any issue affecting normal performance of equipment, materials, or finished product.

· Once proficient at tasks, consistently meets or exceeds production targets.

· Ensures all safety and production policies and procedures are followed, practiced, and adhered to in the execution of their job, including the wearing of personal protective equipment and following machine safety protocols. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
