Preschool Teacher
Job description
The Preschool teacher will prepare children for elementary school by developing their vocabulary, fine and gross motor skills, social skills, and cognitive behavior.
Responsibilities:
- Structures a developmentally appropriate educational experience in the classroom using methods such as, storytelling, games, and activities.
- Teaches students to follow all classroom rules and procedures.
- Monitors students progress throughout the year, making sure they are meeting their milestones as well as evaluating their preparedness for kindergarten.
- Communicates all progress and concerns professionally and efficiently to parents and the directors.
- Builds and maintains positive and professional relationships with parents.
- Enforces all safety and security standards for children, staff, and visitors.
- Maintains knowledge and training of developments and practices in early childhood education.
- Performs all other duties that may be assigned.
Required skills/ abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of early childhood development principles and developmentally appropriate educational practices.
- Knowledge on the bible and comfortably able to teach age appropriate bible practices.
- Enthusiastic and engaging personality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with adults and children.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate with teachers, staff, parents and students in a positive and constructive way.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to plan, manage, and evaluate curriculum.
Education and Experience:
- Must have at least 6 months experience in a South Carolina licensed DSS childcare facility.
- ECD101 or a degree in early childhood is a plus!
- High school diploma or GED is required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the day.
- Must be able to lift at least 45 pounds.
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend, kneel and squat to actively engage with children.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour

Education:
- High school or equivalent (Required)
Experience:
- Childcare: 1 year (Required)
License/Certification:
- Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)
