Job summary

This position is accountable for the sanitation standard operating inspection and testing procedures that ensure food safety, such as reducing pathogens, spoilage, pests, allergen concerns, and quality concerns by implementing the sanitation preventive control inspection required by FSIS and Company policies and procedures. This position reports to the Regulatory Compliance Managerof Golden Valley Natural LLC and is responsible for performing equipment inspections.

Summary of essential job functions

  • Perform production walkthroughs and checks, ensuring that processing equipment is in good sanitary and operational condition and is ready for the start of processing.
  • Perform a close inspection of all surfaces of the equipment.
  • Ensure that equipment is clean and free of food residues.
  • Ensure floors, walls, ceilings, and light fixtures are clean.
  • Ensure waste, debris, and remains have been moved to garbage the room.
  • Ensure drain traps are emptied and cleaned with appropriate chemicals.
  • Ensure that there are no broken or damaged parts of equipment.
  • If the equipment was repaired during operational hours, ensure that no tools, parts, or gloves are left in the working area and verify that cleaning and sanitizing have been completed.
  • Perform necessary tests and record the results.
  • Execute Hold and Release Practices.
  • Document and complete daily performance sheets, including equipment and room inspection, deviations, preventive measures, and corrective actions.
  • Release room for production once the pre-operational inspection has met operating standards.
  • Enforces plant policies and procedures as well as USDA, and FDA regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum requirements

  • Experience working in food manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of sanitation processes and chemicals.
  • Knowledge of USDA and FDA regulations.
  • Knowledge of HACCP

Abilities required.

  • Must speak English and preferably also Spanish but not required.
  • Solid mathematical, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional appearance and presentation skills.
  • Excellent reading and writing skills.

Pay: $22.24 - $23.63 per hour
