This position is located at CAMP PENDLETON, CALIFORNIA. Candidates selected for this position will serve as a POOL LIFEGUARD SUPERVISOR NF-3.

Major Duties
Responsible for the supervision and safety management of a pool. Assists in the training of assigned lifeguards and recreational swimming classes. Ensures that all applicable rules and regulations pertaining to the swimming pools are posted and observed. Responsible for scheduling of employees and in solving any problems related to work. Deals effectively with employees on employer suggestions, complaints, grievances, and other personnel matters. Evaluates performance appraisals, and prepares payroll timecards. Keeps the supervisor informed as to all problem areas and new methods of accomplishing assignments. Administers written and practical water safety tests to ensure the qualifications of assigned lifeguards and instructors. Responsible for ensuring that all maintenance work, water chemical testing, pool vacuuming, filtration, equipment inspection, are within the scope required by environmental health standards. Responsible for all levels of youth and adult water safety instructional programs. Initiates rescue and recovery efforts, contacting medical personnel and performing first aid services when necessary.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must have one year of experience in recreational activities preferably at a supervisory level in water sports, pools and related aquatic activities and two years customer service experience. Must have or obtain an active/current American Red Cross certification of Water Safety Instruction as well as American Red Cross Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, and American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Cards within 6 months of employment. Must have knowledge of pool plant and water chemistry. Must be able to enforce safety requirements, communicate effectively orally and in writing and to motivate interested groups of eligible patrons.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a National Agency Check with Inquiries and State Criminal History Repository Check (CNACI) background checks which are required for positions that involve working with children under 18 years of age.
