A Day in the Life
As the Plant Maintenance Mechanic II , you will:
- Perform repairs and maintenance in plant or office facilities, or on machines and equipment.
- Typically perform work in one or more of the maintenance trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, machine and equipment repair, electrical, sheet metal fabrication, and welding.
- Conduct routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment.
- Use hand and power tools.
- Test, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair machines and equipment.
- Use blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
Nice to Have
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience and may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience
Nice to Have
- Previous experience as a gas fire boiler operator
- 1st class Shelby County steam engineer license
- Boiler, conveyors, and water systems maintenance experience
