• Review plans and specifications for all occupancies as directed.
• Inspect buildings and structures for compliance with Chapter 18 of the Town’s adopted building codes.
• Provide information to owners, developers, architects, engineers and other construction professionals regarding requirements of codes referenced.
• Prepare reports, issues permits and perform other tasks related to the operation of the Community Development Department as directed by the Chief Building Official.

• Certification by the ICC as a Plans Examiner and/or Combination Inspector.
• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree.
• 2 years of professional work experience designing buildings or examining.
• Considerable knowledge of land measuring equipment and legal descriptions with technical skill in the use of architectural engineering and drafting equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret site plans, architectural building plans, and development plans, zoning maps, landscape plans, surveys and plats.
