Hargrove is excited to source candidates for a Planner / Scheduler opportunity to support direct hire needs at a Specialty Chemical's company in Louisville, KY!
This is a long-term, full-time opportunity offering full benefits and competitive pay as a direct hire position in Louisville, KY. Local candidates are preferred. Per diem or relocation may be provided for those who qualify.
Ideal Background:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Construction Science, Building Science or related field is highly preferred.
Certification: AACE International or Project Management Institute (PMI) certification is preferred.
Experience: This position requires 5+ years of relevant industrial experience in planning, scheduling, cost control and estimating.
Summary: Generally responsible for planning and scheduling heavy industrial engineering projects, monitoring project costs and/or estimating projects. Work will be performed under minimal supervision.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Excellent computer skills including MS Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with SAP would be very helpful.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel), Outlook and SAP work order system, or comparable computer software
- Should possess solid working knowledge of industrial instrumentation/electrical maintenance practices and procedures
- Ability to safely and accurately troubleshoot and correct equipment malfunctions; perform system startups from manuals, schematics, or other reference materials. Contact manufactures tech support for help.
- Knowledge and application of company business standards and good practices.
- Extreme attention to detail.
- Possesses a comprehensive understanding of the function of all engineering disciplines.
- Understanding of existing and potential customer deliverable expectations and preferences.
- Ability to set priorities.
- Ability to effectively discuss and correspond with engineering disciplines and/or contractors to ascertain and understand pertinent information concerning schedules, scopes of work, estimates and/or project costs.

- Knowledge of other disciplines deliverable development to ensure coordination of efforts.
- Knowledge and understanding of schedule constraints and information requirements for the production of all project controls deliverables.
- Experienced in scheduling professional service hours and assessing the progress and quality of project controls work. Ability to accurately estimate completion of assigned tasks.
- Proficient in the use of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project scheduling software.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.

- Ability to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Serve as the point person for planning and scheduling all maintenance work orders for the assigned areas of responsibility.
- Provide direction and support for the employees in utilizing their skills and abilities to complete maintenance work toward the goal of maximizing safety, maintenance work efficiency, quality of maintenance work, and maximizing equipment productivity.
- Responsible for developing maintenance plans and schedules to establish sequence and time required for each work order
- Communicate and maintain maintenance schedules for access to all affected parties
- Manage the release of work orders and distribute procedures to maintenance personnel
- Ensure work orders are properly closed after maintenance personnel have confirmed the work is complete
- Confer with department supervisors and SAP to determine status of work orders
- Expedite operations that alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions
- Responsible for developing, documenting, and maintaining procedures for essential job functions
- Coordinate required spare parts inventory with stock room to achieve inventory goal
- Requisition parts for Mechanical, Instrumentation, and Electrical jobs in necessary circumstances
- Assist in coordination of parts inventory, cycle counts, and adjustments as requested
- Support site safety and environmental objectives
- Ensure adherence with Safety standards and Clariant ESHA guideline adherence in the area of activity
