Job description
Performs venipunctures, heelsticks, and fingersticks to obtain blood samples for testing purposes. Properly identifies patients and follows procedures for collection of specimens. Processes and receives specimens into the laboratory, following laboratory protocol for specimen acceptability and rejection. Enters outpatient orders into Laboratory Information System. Collects chain of custody drug screens for pre-employment, post-accident, and just cause cases according to protocol. Assists with clerical duties as needed. Performs other related functions as assigned.
Experience
Preferred- 2 year(s): 2 years hospital phlebotomy experienced is preferred.
Education
Required- High School or better
