POSITION: Pharmacy Technician Instructor
REPORTS TO: Principal, Fairfield Career Center
APPLICATION DEADLINE: Open until position is filled
STARTING DATE: August 2023
QUALIFICATIONS:Successful applicants must have at least five recent years of pharmacy experience and be able to secure license as a career/technical instructor; Must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board or a licensed pharmacist; Teaching experience preferred; Ability to work with business/industry and post-secondary institutions required; Must successfully pass BCI/FBI background check.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare lesson plans and provide instruction in junior and senior labs/classrooms that prepare students for a career in the Pharmacology field. Job responsibilities include providing opportunities for prospective students to explore this career path. Teacher must also coordinate all aspects of the program with an advisory committee. Lab instruction also includes promotion of student involvement in Career Technical Student Organizations. Teacher must also assist students in work-based learning experiences and future employment opportunities in cooperation with local pharmacies.
SALARY:Placement on the certified teacher salary schedule.
