Royal Pets Market, Resort & Veterinary Center is a multi-unit retailer in the Tampa Bay Area, with stores located in Carrollwood, Palm Harbor, St Petersburg and Midtown. We are looking for team members with a true passion for pets.

From our Nutritional Experts helping the pet parents pick out the correct pet food in our Market, our Pet Health & Safety Team Members taking care of the pets in our Resort, our Stylists offering therapeutic treatments and all the extra pampering to the pets and our Vet Teams in our state of the art veterinary center, keeping the pets healthy.

DESCRIPTION:

MOST LOVE DOGS!!!

· The Royal Pets Pet Health & Safety team member is responsible for all activities that take place in the pet resort.

· A passion for dogs and willing to learn about animal behavior to ensure their safety.

· Gets to know clients and their pet’s names on a regular basis

· Interact and communicate closely with other staff to ensure client and pet needs and concerns are understood and addressed.

· Willing and able to communicate directly with clients, both written and orally, about their dog. Works to make these “lifetime clients”.

· Must be able to multitask and be very detailed oriented.

· Good team work and willingness to assist other departments as necessary

· Strong attention to detail, especially where documentation is concerned.

· Ensures the policies & procedures that are in place for the safety & health of our pets are followed by Overnight Pet Health & Safety associates.

· Ensures the completion of all checklists and strict compliance with our pet health & safety policies, procedures & protocols.

· Advocates for every pet, ensuring the best care possible for all pets who come for a day or stay longer in our cat hotel or doggie resort.

· Maintain an environment that is safe, clean, and comfortable for pets to play.

· Responsible for taking the pets to and from the play yards.

· Engages dogs with playtime and monitors behavior in a dog pack setting.

· Feeds, walks, and maintains the cleanliness for the pets.

· Medicates those pets that need medication up to and including insulin and daily pills.

· Comfortable communicating with Pet Parents about their pets and how their stay went.

· Works well with others as a team

· Reliable, punctual, and dependable

· Ability to work a flexible schedule, including holidays and weekends

· Ability to take direction well and apply it independently

· Ability to work in temperature extremes, work outside, or in distracting work environments such as loud noise/sound

· Ability to tolerate being in close contact with various bodily fluids and to get dirty frequently

· Physically able to handle dogs of all sizes and to lift up to 60 lbs.

As a retail and service-related business, we are open 7 days a week, and on the majority of holidays, we look for open availability that includes weekends & holidays.

The minimum age to work with us is 18.

Animal or pet experience preferred but willing to train the right candidate.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
