Evergreen Charter School is seeking a Permanent Substitute Teacher for 6-8th Grades. The mission of Evergreen Charter School (ECS) is to nurture the intellectual, physical and social development of children, through a comprehensive program that promotes academic excellence and prepares its students for success in school and in life.

The Substitute Teacher responsibilities include, and are not limited to, the following:

• Monitor student learning and provide academic instruction by implementing the sub lesson plans with fidelity.
• Create a positive, structured learning environment to ensure that students observe the school’s core values and high expectations.
• Implement effective classroom management based on pedagogical practice.
• Commit to professional growth, participating actively in department meetings, faculty meetings, and professional development initiatives.
• Participate in the extracurricular activities hosted at ECS, collaborate within the team, and meet all professional responsibilities.
• Communicate effectively with students, families and colleagues.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid New York State State Certification.
• Successfully cleared background check.
