Responsibilities:
What You’ll Do
The Unit Clerk is responsible for delivery of patient care.
The successful candidate will be able to:
- Greeting and directing patients, visitors and physicians upon their arrival to the department
- Demonstrate the ability to process proper forms, schedule procedures, input and work on the CRT, and coordinate the desk area of the patient care unit
- Order entry via the CRT for all physician's orders on patients, general office duties for the unit, phone coordination and conveying overall outstanding customer service
- Demonstrate good telephone skills and able to assist others in a courteous manner, following up on the caller's needs
- Maintain confidentiality with all information
- Perform any and all other duties as assigned
Education/Certification
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic Life Support
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of patient assistance and care procedures
- Knowledge of basic methods of personal hygiene
- Committed to health and safety standards
- Ability to apply basic nursing techniques
- Understanding of medical terminology
- Empathetic and approachable
- Demonstrate a personal interest in the health and wellbeing of others
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
