Service Orientation:
This position is company-focused with the objective of supporting both the Payroll and Human Resource departments in the effective and efficient delivery of processing payroll and HR-related tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists and supports the Payroll Manager in the collection, calculation and entering of data into Payroll system.
- Processes payroll for a multi-state payroll.
- Processes child support, levies and garnishments according to the laws by state.
- Enters employee new hire information.
- Updates payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, job titles, pay rates, and department transfers.
- Pulls and prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, 401k, deductions, etc.
- Assists in reviewing and training new management with HR and payroll processes and systems.
- Pulls ad hoc reports.
- Works with payroll vendor to resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
- Answers payroll questions.
- Maintains both A/P and payroll operations by following policies and procedures and reporting needed changes.
- Assists in the recruitment and new hire process, employee maintenance records, compensation and benefits, LMS tracking, and other utilized software performance reports.
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Accounting or related field preferred
- 3 years of payroll cycle experience; 1-2 years HR experience.
- Ability to type proficiently and work effectively with Microsoft Office Products.
Additional Notes:
- Full-time.
- Occasional night or weekend work may be required.
- Occasional travel may be required.
