STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:
To prepare bi-weekly payroll and maintain all of the corporate payroll records and reports. Responsible for the accuracy of the general ledger accounts that relate to payroll.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Review and correct time and attendance records and ensure approval of time by both staff and supervisor
  • Check with supervisors if there are any unexplained discrepancies
  • Reconcile time and attendance time record with payroll record and correct any discrepancies
  • Prepare and transmit payroll in a timely manner to meet deadlines
  • Track sick time taken to determine eligibility for sick incentive program and Arizona sick time
  • Process child support deductions and garnishments
  • Track eligibility for retirement deductions and employer matching
  • Ensure employee retirement deductions are submitted in a timely manner
  • Ensure employee benefits deductions are summitted in a timely manner
  • Prepare manual payroll checks as required in case of payroll errors or terminations
  • Main contact and trainer of time keeping system
  • Reconcile payroll deductions to monthly benefit statements; research and report any discrepancies to the benefits administrator for correction
  • Maintain reconciliation of payroll deductions to monthly benefits in order to provide the benefits administrator the amount of benefits due (refund) at the time of termination
  • Prepare and enter Journal Entries for payroll, benefits and accruals
  • Prepare provider incentive calculations per contract and according to policy
  • Prepare provider CME payments according to contract and policy and track payments and balances. Reports any problems or concerns to the Director of Finance
  • Reconcile employer retirement expenses for compliance to IRS rulings and the corporate summary plan document
  • Responsible for the data submission for retirement compliance testing
  • Responsible for ensuring the annual 5500 audit and report filing
  • Assist in projects involving researching and compiling data for management and reporting purposes
  • Manage employee expense reports electronically including maintenance of approval map

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma required
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years payroll experience (Paycom experience highly desired)
  • Courses in basic accounting principles
