SUMMARY:
The Payroll Administrator will report to the Payroll Manager and will support all duties associated with the accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly payrolls for 1,600 employees as well as assist in all payroll related financial close tasks. This role will work closely with Human Resources and will interact closely with the finance team to complete all close related tasks. This individual will be driven, highly motivated, proactive, detail oriented, self-directed and own the payroll function.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the payroll vendors to process all payrolls for employees in the American and Canadian regions
  • Responsible for reviewing new hire entries, master file changes from HR and reconciling payroll files
  • Audit time sheets and system uploads
  • Assist in multi-state employees and managers with pay related issues
  • Responsible for processing off cycle manual payroll checks and/or ACH payroll payments
  • Assist with research projects and preparation of management reports as needed
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned
  • Ensure controls are properly performed within the payroll process
  • Coordinate with external auditors to assist with quarterly and annual audits as needed
  • Strong work ethics with the ability and flexibility to work extended hours during critical periods such as payroll submission, quarter and year-end remittance deadlines
  • Serve as a back up to the payroll manager when out of the office for all inquires

Requirements:

  • 3-4 years of payroll processing experience
  • Possess a working knowledge of payroll-related requirements and regulations
  • Maintain confidentiality in all assignments and in all information obtained
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of payroll software, preferably UKG and Ceridian Tax
  • Working knowledge of state requirements
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft business suite, specifically excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization both internally and externally
  • Accounting degree a plus

The compensation range for this position is $60,000-$65,000. Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and location — talk with your recruiter to learn more. There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role or exceptional workload issues or special projects.
