Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY
The Patient Monitor/Observer is responsible for providing continuous observation and surveillance of assigned patients through video monitoring software. The individual will verbally redirect the patient from engaging in at risk behaviors and contact nursing staff if the patient requires assistance or serves as a threat to themselves or other staff members. This individual works under the direction of a Registered Nurse to provide a safe environment for an identified patient who is at an increased risk to cause harm to self.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
(For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.)

EXPERIENCE
Minimum Experience Required: Demonstrated proficiency with verbal communication skills and prioritizing simultaneous situations. Demonstrated proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to perform physical requirements of the position.
Preferred/Optional Experience: Experience providing direct patient care in a hospital setting. Experience working as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Medical Assistant (MA).
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position, which must be maintained in good standing:
Minimum Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.
Preferred/Optional: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
