Patient Care Coordinator
Job description
Our Team at Periodontal & Implant Associates, Inc. located in Cullman, AL is looking to add to our growing family! Our newest team member will be someone energetic, who enjoys working as a team, and providing quality and compassionate care to every patient.
The new team member will be responsible for assisting patients when they arrive for their appointments, collecting appropriate documentation, and managing the flow of the front office. This position will be in charge of managing communications with patients, care providers, insurance companies, and co-workers and we strive to provide the best periodontal and implant services.
Some of the essential duties include:
Communicating with patients about their status and condition
- Entering new patient information and updating patient charges as appropriate
- Verifying and updating patients’ insurance eligibility and benefits
- Maintaining accurate schedules and notes in our scheduling system with timely and direct communication regarding scheduling changes
- Managing patient accounts with contact information, insurance, and financial information in a confidential manner
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Two years’ client service, customer service, or patient services experience
- Knowledge of dental terminology and insurance practices
- Previous experience in a periodontal implant office or similar practice
- Knowledge of surgical dental procedures
- Knowledge and ability to discuss financial arrangements with patients/families
- The ability to manage difficult conversations with empathy and active listening skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required (bi-lingual in Spanish a plus), along with a proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High proficiency with comfort with using various technology and systems
- Working knowledge of various social media sites to assist with Practice marketing efforts
This position will work the following hours: Monday – Thursday, 8 am – 5 pm with a 30 minute lunch; we are closed on Fridays.
