POSITION DETAILS
Department: Admissions And Registration
Location: US:PA:Lewisburg
Typical Work Schedule: Evenings (3:15pm - 7:15pm, Monday through Friday)
Primary Shift: Shift 2
Work Type: 0.5 FTE (part-time, 40 hours per biweekly pay)
Exempt: No

SUMMARY
The Patient Access Representative is responsible for welcoming patients to Evangelical Community Hospital. This position will accurately gather, verify, and record all pertinent information required to comply with medical regulations and to produce correct statistical information. This position is also responsible for verifying all tests and procedures ordered meet medical necessity criteria and verifying insurance benefits for all patients.

QUALIFICATIONS
1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
2. Medical terminology and medical billing course preferred.
3. Prior customer service experience required. Registration experience preferred.
4. Pennsylvania state police criminal record check, child abuse history clearance and an FBI criminal history check required.

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Involves direct close patient contact 10.00%
  • Pushing/pulling wheelchairs, stretchers & equip up to 50lbs 10.00%
  • Pushing/Pulling/Lifting/Unloading Equipment up to 100lbs 10.00%
  • Frequently required/prolonged sitting, standing or walking 65.00%
  • Stand, bend, lift & grab/clean necessary items/instruments 10.00%
