Requirements:
At least 2 years of experience in a fast paced setting such as fine dining restaurant or in hotel pastry department.
At least 1 year of supervisor/management experience
Technically skilled in plated desserts, chocolate work, cakes, entremets, petite gateaux, tarts, bread, ice cream & sorbets, American and European style desserts
Able to stand long hours, lift up to 50lbs, competent in speaking & comprehending English, able to work on weekends and holidays
Able to disciple, lead, mentor, and inspire a team with the help of the executive pastry chef
Possess excellent verbal & written communication skill
Can work efficiently, great attention to detail, and able to multi task
Must have a desire to learn and grow, possess passion & creativity, have flexibility, able to communicate professionally and respectful to others.
Job Description:
Managing and train a team of bakers, pastry prep and line cooks
Able to maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen while leading a team.
Assist the executive pastry chef in planning, executing, and implementing seasonal changes and create special desserts for banquets, holiday, and other special events
Managing and ensuring all pastry items are presented and executed within the standards of the executive pastry chef & culinary director
Competent in using programs to write or build recipes, staff scheduling, track dessert sales, keep track of food costs, etc using programs such as Microsoft programs, Toast, restaurant 365, and Fusion Prep- Some knowlege is prefered but we are willing to train the right person for this role
Make sure prep lists for all hourly staff is correct and produced in a timely manner, all food & tools are ordered properly to complete production, communicate any pastry related info throughout the team
Monitor department ensuring there is minimal waste, proper plating, tracking inventory of all pastry production items, report any maintenance issues to appropriate team member
Preshift any pastry related info to FOH & BOH such as shortages, special desserts, menu changes, etc
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
