PARKING CONTROL OFFICER

Parking Division

The Parking Division is currently looking for enthusiastic individuals that enjoy working outdoors and enjoy working independently as well as in a team setting. PCO’s enforce City parking ordinances; ticket and tow vehicles in violation of said ordinances, tactfully explain reasons for citations to customers, and act as an ambassador to provide directions and information to the public and other duties related to parking operations. If you are self-motivated, enjoy a challenge and can work independently, this could be a great fit. We utilize a variety of techniques and tools to enforce the parking laws in the city, i.e.: Foot/bicycle patrol, as well as LPR vehicles, etc. You would enjoy 14 paid holidays, as well as earn paid time off on a weekly basis, and excellent retirement and health insurance benefits. If you are a detail-oriented person that has a good sense of fairness and judgement making, we would love to hear from you. The ability to communicate clearly is a must, as well as excellent customer service skills.

The current schedule is Full-Time, 37.5 hours/week, Monday thru Friday, 11:00am to 7:00pm, which includes an unpaid 30-minute lunch break.

Requirements: Previous customer service experience and excellent customer service skills; ability to follow oral and written instructions; ability to work independently; ability to stand/walk for long periods of time, lift/carry 25 pounds, squatting/stooping and reaching; ability and willingness to work in varied weather conditions; knowledge of or the ability to learn both the layout of the City and two-way radio communication procedures; familiarity with Word and Excel. A good driving record with an active license is required (must provide license number), and successful candidates must pass a pre-employment physical fitness assessment. Offers of employment are contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory criminal background check.

CEBA Union position - Grade 10 – Pay rate starting at $20.03/hour.
