Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other Maricopa County employees within the same job classification. As our Park Maintenance Worker, you will perform various maintenance tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment for our recreation facilities and grounds.

Maricopa County parks offer visitors the best of the Sonoran Desert, from hiking on a barrier-free trail to horseback riding along a creek to testing your mountain biking skills and abilities on a competitive track. With approximately 120,042 acres of parkland and 872 miles of trails, Maricopa County is home to one of the largest regional park systems in the nation.
Currently, there are twelve parks in Maricopa County’s regional park system. Each is unique and offers its visitors a wide variety of recreational opportunities. We Require
-
High school diploma or GED
-
One year of general maintenance, custodial, or building maintenance experience
We Also Value
-
Computer experience using word processing and spreadsheet programs
-
Certificate related to facility maintenance such as plumbing, HVAC, or a related discipline
Job Contributions
-
Clean and maintain ramadas and restrooms, paint interior and external structures, remove graffiti, install road and trail signage, complete minor irrigation and plumbing jobs, change and repair leaks and replace plumbing fixtures, repair and install fences, repair power equipment, septic systems, water systems, and complete minor electrical repairs

Complete landscape and desert maintenance, trash collection, tree pruning, weeding, erosion control, and trail/desert vegetation maintenance

Operate a backhoe or small tractor

Provide direction to probationary or other work crews in manual labor tasks

Greet customers, provide information, answer questions, and collect entry fees

Assist with emergencies in the park, rescues, or basic first aid
Working Conditions

Work is performed in various weather conditions, including temperatures over 100 degrees Fahrenheit

May require working nights, weekends, and holidays
