We are hiring an OR Tech!!

Minimum 1 Year experience in an operating room setting.

AlliedUp Healthcare Staffing is currently seeking an experienced Operation Room Technician to fill a opening with a Hospital located in Passaic, NJ. The ideal OR Tech candidates are responsible for the preparation of sterile supplies and instruments for each assigned procedure, maintaining sterile field during case and providing surgeon with sterile supplies and instruments during assigned procedures. Candidate should have 1 year of Operating Room experience.

Requirements of the OR Tech

High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014.

Graduate of an ORT training program or on the job training with a minimum of 3 years experience (surgical setting preferred).

Experience in scrubbing minor and major procedures in the generalized surgical specialties, (i.e., GYN, General and Plastics).

Experience in scrubbing at least minor procedures in the specialty surgical areas (i.e., ortho, neuro, ENT, Uro. Etc.).

Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.

· Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in a hospital setting; E.R. setting, preferred

Responsibilities of the OR Tech

· Maintain proper sterile technique during the procedure.

· Functioning as a scrub person, circulation assistant and member of the surgical team

· Setting patients up for surgery

· Participate on nursing committees.

· Assemble, maintain and track surgical instruments and equipment.

· Inspect all packaged items to ensure integrity.

· Conduct pre-op, intra-op and post-op surgical counts according to AORN standards.

· Maintain the integrity of the surgical field during procedures.

· Scrubs for surgical procedures as assigned, maintaining proficiency in all surgical specialties.

· Utilizes principles of aseptic technique in performing responsibilities in the operating room
