ABOUT THE POSITION:
Other Personal Services" (OPS) positions are used to describe positions that are part-time and temporary in nature. OPS jobs will normally be created for the accomplishment of short term peak workload, or periodic/intermittent tasks or projects for the college. OPS employees do not fill established positions, nor are they assigned the duties of any vacant authorized position. These positions will vary, based on the need of the institution and include office, clerical, administrative, and/or manual labor positions. An OPS temporary employee can work up to 1040 hours (in a 12 month period), unless the employee meets the criteria for extension referenced in Rule 60L-33.005, Florida Administrative Code, and normally are not longer than a six months employment period.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Job functions will vary depending on the work, project, task, department or other work criteria.
JOB/DEPARTMENT-SPECIFIC DUTIES:
OPS Worker positions earn an hourly rate of $13.00 per hour.
Required Skills
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Good organizational skills with special attention to detail.
- Ability to work well with others
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- May be required to work evening shifts (until 7pm).
- This is a frontline position that will work with the public on-site. (No remote work is permitted.)
- This position will need to meet appearance/dress code restrictions including, but not limited to maintaining a professional image with limits on visible piercings and tattoos.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
HS Diploma or equivalent required.
Required Experience
Prefer experience related to the department-specific OPS position.
