Job description
The Operations Support Technician I responsibilities include but not limited to providing HVAC Startup Technicians, Controls Technicians, Service Technicians, and customer support promptly, effectively, and efficiently through means of: Phone, E-mail, and Remote services. This position will act as a resource to internal employees and external customers related to support request and issues, administering communication and documentation as needed, setting expectations to deliver professional, timely, and courteous support services in a professional manner. The ideal candidate will work in a fast-paced, agile environment and stay on the cutting edge of technologies and strategies. This position is in Douglasville, GA. Travel as needed.
Requirements:Job Responsibilities (List is not inclusive)
- Provide technical support in the setup, configuration, troubleshooting and operations of mechanical and controls equipment – components, hardware, and software issues.
- Assist with necessary training to internal employees and external customers on the features, proper usage, and applications.
- Assist with specific programming and parameter settings for custom applications of mechanical and controls equipment.
- Assist in punch list tracking and closeout documentation.
- Create, manage, respond, and follow-up on support request.
- Assist in startup of Controls and HVAC systems.
- Directive of field changes.
- Field documentation procurement (As-builts, Check-out Sheets, Panel Closeout Drawings).
- Manage time to complete assignments on time and on budget.
- Consistent and clear communication with internal and external customers.
- Ensure completeness of work performed.
- Assist Project Managers/ Startup Managers/ Controls Engineers with tasks and coordination.
- Assist with training and closeout documentation.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience with mechanical documentation procurement.
- Experience with mechanical and controls programming and hardware.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of HVAC DDC controls theory and applications.
- Experience working with debugging tools, analyzers, and other related resources.
- Proven ability to read diagrams related to schematic controls.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong skills in collaboration and communication. Must be able to work with teams and use customer feedback to the advantage of the final product’s optimization.
Education and Experience
- AA Degree in Applied Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience. Bachelor’s degree, a plus.
- 4 plus years of experience in HVAC, automation, and controls.
