Responsibilities

Responsible for coordinating the daily activities of the drivers in the pick-up and delivery of raw milk from our customer's dairy farms to processing plants. Ensuring the efficient scheduling and routing of trucks including maintaining daily schedules, equipment lists, and responding to calls to meet customer and employee requirements.

This position is currently a remote position but will turn into an on-site position once our new shop is built. Must live within an hour of La Belle, Missouri.

Managing the Milk

• Monitor and maintain relationships with current customers at all levels: Dispatch, Farm, and Plant Leaders
• Communicate with farms, processing plants, and drivers in resolving customer issues or concerns ensuring services are provided efficiently and professionally.
• Assist the DFA accounting department with Bill of Lading collection in order to complete plant balancing.
• Inform Billing department of any added hauling costs incurred month-to-month.
• Manage the milk times at the farm and track the milk log.

Managing the Drivers

• Manage the workload and schedules for 20-25 full-time and part-time employees.
• Monitor the daily activities of drivers so they adhere to schedules and time constraints.
• Assist with interviewing, hiring, and training applicants.
• Ensure laws and regulations are followed and promote safety procedures for the employees and the environment.
• Finalize weekly payroll (wait time, load pay, vacation hours, etc.) via Vector.

Managing the Equipment

• Track usage and schedule regular preventative maintenance for Equipment.
• Assist company drivers with breakdowns and coordinate with staff or third-party vendors to schedule repairs.
• Accident investigation and documentation - work with safety for insurance purposes.
• Work with all other departments to serve and provide for the success of Zimmerman Transfer drivers.
• Provide on-call coverage for operations including logistics and maintenance.

Qualifications

• 2 year Associates degree in Business or Logistics Management and/or
• 2+ years of relevant experience to this role
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Strong ability to multitask
• Commercial Drivers License (Class A) with tanker endorsement, preferred.
