Spring Back Utah Mattress Recycling is a social enterprise that cares deeply about having measurable impacts in our community. Thanks to our team, mattresses/box springs will be diverted from our landfills and completely manually deconstructed. The components (90-95%) will then be recycled through our recycling business partners. Spring Back Utah Mattress Recycling is growing and looking to hire an Operations Coordinator to lead our team. You will be in charge of providing inspired leadership for the operation of each of our organization’s lines of business, which involves making important policy and strategic decisions, as well as the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures. You will also be assisting our Human Resources department with recruiting, when necessary, and help promote a company culture that encourages morale and performance.
Operations Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Provide inspired leadership for direct reports.
- Improve and streamline existing organizational processes to enhance quality, productivity, and efficiency.
- Assist HR with recruiting and interviewing when necessary.
- Help promote a company culture that fosters hope, dignity, and belief in teamwork, leading to top performance and high morale.
- Give input on budgeting. Assist with invoicing, reporting, planning, and auditing.
- Work with HR Department to ensure all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations.
- Identify and address problems and opportunities for the company.
- Build and maintain alliances and partnerships with other organizations.
- Support worker communication with the other supervisors ensuring daily, weekly, and monthly goals are met.
- Oversee warehouse staff results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees: planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
- Work with warehouse supervisors to ensure good physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts, inspecting equipment, issuing work orders for repairs, and requisitions for replacement.
- Oversee inventory levels ensuring physical counts of mattresses received and product bales, reconciling with data storage system.
- Oversee warehouse supervisors in receiving, warehousing, and transport (pickup service) operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
- Oversee weekly safety meetings.
- All other tasks and duties assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Be able to lift 80 lbs.
- Physically able to carry out deconstruction tasks.
- Ability to stand and move about the warehouse with team members 1-2 hours, daily, or as needed, working on deconstructing mattresses and other tasks.
- Assist with physical operations within the warehouse such as deconstructing the mattresses and helping with all other physical tasks within the warehouse.
- Regular walk-throughs of the warehouse and interacting with team members.
Operations Coordinator Requirements:
- Preferred but not required: bachelor’s degree in business management, or a related field with 3-7 years of experience.
- Prior experience in management, operations, and leadership.
- Understanding of general finance and budgeting, including profit and loss, balance sheet and cash-flow management.
- Ability to build unity and relationships among managers, supervisors, partners, and employees.
- Excellent communication skills.
- General understanding of financial management.
- An understanding of financial management is also a plus.
