Operational Risk Executive Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direction, support and oversight to responsible business units, specifically Global Delivery Middle office services and major project simplification efforts with respect to State Street’s risk management policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Facilitates and collaborates with ERM and other colleagues to implement the ongoing development of a sound risk management framework and support of a global governance program.
  • Risk Framework includes the identification, measurement, control and management of business risks. Utilization of available risk management tools (NBPRA, OKRI, Loss and Data Incident Event Review) and independent risk assessment analysis.
  • Support communication, trends, insights, emerging risks, key issues and information to Risk Meeting/Committees and across the three lines of defense.
  • Assist with the execution and oversight of Operational Risk Programs (e.g. RCSA, MRI, KRI's, operational incident capture and management).
  • Provide risk reporting to the relevant businesses, committees and legal entity boards as required.
  • Analyze risks and recommend appropriate internal control improvements. Independently manage projects designed to improve risk management strategies.
  • Investigate and assess operational losses; analyze root causes and trends.
  • Prepare risk reporting suitable for executive management review which highlights key exposures, areas of focus while meeting regulatory requirements. Monitor business changes and advise senior management of risk mitigation strategies.
  • May act as a liaison with regulatory agencies, internal and external advisors and other internal control groups on risk related issues.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • 6+ years risk experience and experience in the subject matter relevant to the business unit.
  • Proven interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong, organization, project management and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong decision-making skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Team player.
  • Ability to negotiate, influence and build consensus.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong business relationships within the business unit and across the corporation
Salary Range:
$110,000 - $185,000 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
