United Health Services is seeking Office Lead to join our Sleep Disorder Center team in Binghamton, NY. This is a BENEFITS-ELIGIBLE position.

Shift: Days, Evenings

Hours per week: 40

Salary range: $18.84 - $25.48/hour, depending on experience

Office Lead Overview

The Office lead will work closely with the supervisor and management team to uphold the mission and vision of UHS to ensure Service Excellence, Clinical Excellence, Financial Strength, and Market Growth.

Coordinate and oversee activities of the front office and front office team members to ensure compassionate and professional care for patients, and effective and efficient front office workflow.

Will perform all duties of a medical receptionist: The medical receptionist is the customer service liaison to each of our practices. The medical receptionist greets each patient with courtesy and respect using exceptional communication skills. The purpose of this position is to provide our patients with a seamless experience while following all UHS Policies regarding registration, scheduling, insurance verification and billing.

Office Lead Key Responsibilities and Expectations

Greets customers with a positive and friendly approach at every interaction.

Answers patient questions and provides information as necessary in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.

Provides general supervision to clerical staff.

Monitors workflow and recommends adjustments to office supervisor as needed.

Performs staff audits and provides corrective action recommendations on staff errors; provides staff technical support.

Serves as Liaison between Office Supervisor and Medical Receptionist regarding system and personnel problems and suggestions.

Trains, orients, and mentors new staff members.

Interacts with support departments (i.e., Coding, Medical Records, Business Office) to ensure appropriate office service delivery standards.

Monitors provider schedules to maximize efficiency, make recommendations to office supervisor as needed.

Reviews all system generated reports (i.e. registration, worklist and open encounters) and makes appropriate reconciliation recommendations.

Serves as backup to Office Supervisor when they are unavailable.

Advises office supervisor of non-compliance with UHS policies/procedures.

Responds to patient inquiries and complaints timely and documents when appropriate.

Acts as backup for office staff.

Promotes and facilitates the compliance and of Joint Commission, NYS DOH, Infection Control and all regulatory standards.

Provides detailed quality service via phone, electronic messaging or in person.

Maintains an awareness of patient wait times and works with team to provide updated information regarding any delays.

Participates in Performance Improvement activities within the office.

Attend periodic training sessions/forums pertinent to position.

Makes referral appointments as ordered by provider and submits prior authorizations to insurance.

Revises and blocks patient scheduling system.

Position Qualifications

Minimum:
High School Diploma or equivalent

One year previous medical office experience

Preferred:
Previous medical, administrative and customer service experience

Proficient PC skills

Knowledge of Medical Terminology

Associate’s or Bachelor's degree
