Job Summary and Qualifications

The LPN Occupational Health performs nursing care under the direction of the Registered Nurse. Provides nursing service and first aid to employees or persons who become ill or injured on premises of an industrial plant, or other establishment: Takes patient's vital signs, treats wounds, evaluates physical condition of patient, and contacts physician and hospital to arrange for further medical treatment, when needed. Maintains record of persons treated, and prepares accident reports and insurance forms. Assists RN to provide employee programs, such as health education, accident prevention, alcohol abuse counseling, curtailment of smoking, and weight control regimens. May assist physician in physical examination of new employees. Performs surveillance testing including audiograms, pulmonary function tests, respirator fit tests, EKGs, phlebotomy, vision/Titmus exams, drug screening, and Breath Alcohol Testing if certified and required at the worksite. The Licensed Practical Nurse in 770 Occupational Health provides care for, adult patients between 18 to 64 years; and geriatric patients 65 years and older. The nurse must be audiometric trained, NIOSH Spirometry trained, and competent to administer EKG’s and phlebotomy. Knowledge of OSHA and Workers Compensation laws required.


What you need for this role:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of Technical nursing with an LPN degree.
  • Must hold a current LPN license from the Georgia Board of Nursing. A South Carolina nursing license will be required within one year of hire for the nurses that work in mobile services and serve customers in SC.
  • BLS required upon hire (AHA or Red Cross)
  • 2-5 years’ experience required in hospital setting or in Occupational Health, Employee Health or Community Health. Prior experience in Occupational Health preferred.
