Job description

A CNA at a nursing home is responsible for providing the most basic care to patients who range from being nearly independent to being almost completely helpless. A CNA must be compassionate and get satisfaction out of helping other people. Duties include bathing, cleaning, and clothing patients, helping them in their daily activities, feeding them or ensuring they take their medication, monitoring and recording their vital signs, and reporting any noteworthy changes to a nurse or physician. A CNA also needs to work with medical technology, such as software for billing, health information, and charting medical records.
