The Nurse Manager is responsible for managing, delegating, coordinating and providing nursing care through utilization of the nursing process. The above is accomplished with the utilization of effective communication skills with patients, significant others and members of the multidisciplinary health care team. Within the scope of practice assumes responsibility, as necessary, for the assessment, treatment and care of patients of all ages. Displays an understanding of the developmental needs of the patient when planning and implementing treatment. Displays competency in obtaining information and interpreting the patient’s behavior based upon an understanding of the patients cognitive, biopsychosocial and religious cultural aging processes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred. Two years nursing experience preferred. Neurological experience preferred. Multiple Sclerosis Nurse Certification (MSCN) preferred. New York State Registered Nurse. BLS, ACLS preferred.
