Duties and Responsibilities:

Direct Support to address the wants and needs of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, which may include:

- Supporting personal goals

- Administering medications

- Planning and preparing meals

· Assisting with activities of daily living

- Transporting to and from day program and community outings

- Reinforcing therapies, including speech, behavioral support, and physical therapy

- Ensuring all needs are addressed in a respectful manner with dignity and personal choice

- Completing and maintaining required documentation on a web-based system

Qualifications:

- Valid driver's license

- Current automobile insurance

- Ability to pass registry and background checks

- Ability to handle a variety of situations and personalities

- Must maintain confidentiality and protect individual rights

- Ability to project a caring and professional image at all times

- Proven skills in communication, observation, problem solving, and time management

- Prefer one year of experience in intellectual/developmental disabilities or caring for a person in a healthcare setting
