The Night & Weekend Program Assistant position is a para-professional in the Office of Student Activities & Engagement and reports to the Director of Student Activities & Engagement. This Program Assistant is expected to contribute to the development, facilitation, and evaluation of student events at UMW. The Program Assistant will be required to take part in all divisional professional staff meetings and in-service training, and is expected to provide professional support office initiatives and programs. It is essential to the success of the position for the person to live on campus.
General Description of Position
The primary responsibilities of the Program Assistant are to oversee the planning and implementation of many night and weekend programs and initiatives that SAE sponsors and/or supports.
This role requires the Program Assistant to be available to work during regular office hours and to be on-site for programming during evening and weekend hours. The Program Assistant is required to live in UMW provided housing due to the late-night and weekend programming requirements, as well as to serve as a member of the University’s crisis response team through a rotating on-call schedule.

Required KSAs / Competencies / Qualifications to successfully perform their work
Ability to work during regular office hours (8:00AM-5:00PM)
Ability to be on-site for programming during evening and weekend hours
Prior event planning experience
